Tesuque Creek Trail

April 12, 2017

This is a nice trail in the Santa Fe National Forest on the road going up to the ski area. The trail head will be on your left as you are heading up. This roughly 4 mile trail uses 3 different trails to makeup this triangular loop. Trail 150 from the parking lot and then a left onto Trail 254 along the flowing Tesuque Creek for just over a mile and then Trail 182 back to the trail head/parking lot.

We will meet at the Merc parking lot on NM 165 here in Placitas at 8:55 on Sunday 11 June for a 9 o’clock departure. Wear good hiking shoes/boots, bring a hat, sunscreen and possibly a hiking stick. We will provide the water.

Note- this trail is over 9,ooo feet in elevation in spots, so be aware.

The land ethic simply enlarges the boundaries of the community to include soils, waters, plants, and animals, or collectively: the land… In short, a land ethic changes the role of Homo sapiens from conqueror of the land-community to plain member and citizen of it. It implies respect for his fellow-members, and also respect for the community as such.
