Bike/Hike Placitas

The unsafe conditions for bikers, pedestrians and motorists concerned LPA and exploration of how the community feels began with a three-month survey in 2021. 350 responses were received, 89% from the 87043 zip code. 78% of respondents support pursuing funding for bike and walking paths in Placitas. More details in a news post.

A work group has been formed including community volunteers and representatives from DOT, MRCOG and Sandoval County. This is a long term project beginning with a search for funding to do a feasibility study, which is the first step. Watch for reports, maps, etc. here.

So bountiful hath been the earth and so securely have we drawn from it our substance, that we have taken it all for granted as if it were only a gift, and with little care or conscious thought of the consequences of our use of it; nor have we very much considered the essential relation that we bear to it as living parts in the vast creation.
